Sepia Saturday 134; Prams;

My elder sister; 1935;  I remember  this  park, as a child I went for walks there with my mother; she seemed to like this place, as we always went there.

This is also my sister, there are many photos of her like this but not in the pram.  Not many of myself as in the war  years my mother did not have films for her camera. After the war there were many photos again.Alas I was  6 years old and not in a pram anymore!

  2. That's a sturdy, solid looking pram, but more like a boat with wheels than something you might choose to perambulate in. Haven't styles changed.

    1. Yes Brett, mine for my children in the 60's looked similar but more elegant,and comfort abler. Today's "pram brigade" use only strollers light and easy to transport.

  3. These are sweet photos. I was also thinking how "deep" her pram is - maybe some cushions for her to sit on so she could see out? I have trouble commenting on blogs if they don't give me the option of name/url (I think because I have an inactive wordpress blog so I just have to use google). Anywhoo - you stopped by my blog and I wanted you to know I had been here. kathy at abbieandeveline.com Thanks!

  4. You see the word prams was so "What in the world is a pram? Now I know!" Cool post!

  5. The wheels on your sister's pram look as if they would give a bumpy ride on all but the smoothest ground.

  6. Dang, Tatiana, your Mom could haul a lot of groceries in that thing! Your sister is so cute. The war fouled up shoes AND film, didn't it? Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

  7. Cute pictures. I didn't know there was a shortage of film during the war years.

  8. Two gorgeous pictures. Like the others I was amazed at how deep the pram was. I seem to have a vague memory that underneath the baby there was the capacity to store things.

  10. Lovely. My sister always thought she was adopted as there were hardly any photos of her. It seems mum was too busy with a growing family? As the first child I feel fortunate that there are more photos of me than my 3 siblings.

  11. Your sister's pram looks huge - I bet you could get a lot of shopping in there, along with the baby. The bottom of our pram had a panel which came out and you could store things under the baby. I think it also had a wire rack under the body of the pram. Cute pics :-) Jo
