Don't forget to smell the Roses;

Ilona; strong colour, subtle perfume;

Just Pink, soft colour, wonderful scent;

One Perfect Rose by Dorothy Parker

A single flow'r he sent me, since we met.
All tenderly his messenger he chose;
Deep-hearted, pure, with scented dew still wet -
One perfect rose.

I knew the language of the floweret;
'My fragile leaves,' it said, 'his heart enclose.'
Love long has taken for his amulet
One perfect rose.

Why is it no one ever sent me yet
One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it's always just my luck to get
One perfect rose.

Iceberg; pristine and sweet.

  2. all very lovely but my fave is the last one, the iceberg, as i favor white roses. i give them, and i like to receive them as well. though when i had an apartment with a terrace, i grew some "peace" roses, a double hybrid, yellow at the heart and fushia on the edges. they were my pride and joy back then.

  3. Carol, thanks you for your visit.

    Ticklebear, thank you, I love the Iceberg too. In Germany this rose is called Schneewittchen, "Snowwhite". I grow Peace rose but I call it Gioa like in Italy. It is one of the most beautiful roses in my garden. You should grow one again!
