Mrs Benteli our pet Guinea fowl was with us for over 15 years. She followed me and when I called her she always answered. In the morning I fed her together with the chooks. Sometimes I gave her little treats. She loved oats with milk. This morning when I called her she did not answer. I was afraid something happened. When I went in search of her all I found was her feathers. Perhaps a fox got her. She was only a little guinea fowl but she was very cute and we loved her.
A sad end for Mrs. Benteli.
Oh, that IS very sad! That would easily ruin my day or week, or more to see only the feathery remains of a creature I loved. I'm so sorry.
ReplyDeleteOh my first day visiting this blog and it is a sad blog. She was such a pretty bird.
ReplyDeleteOur neighbors on the southern Iowa farm where I was raised, had guiena chickens and in the summer they would roost in all of there trees. They were a noisy bunch. So sad.
Kat hank you for your visit and your kind words.
ReplyDeleteShe was such a long time with us, I will miss her in the morning when I fed her and gave her a cuddle.
L.D. Burgus, She was noisy when she was laying her eggs, which she had not done any more for many years. She used to come for walks with me in the orchard. Thank you for your visit, I hope the next one is not a sad one!
Oh das tut mir leid, die arme kleine Mrs. Benteli!
ReplyDeleteOh poor Mrs Benteli! You will miss her - these small creatures leave such large holes when they leave.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so sorry about Mrs. Benteli. It would be devastating to me to find that one of my dear animal friends had been killed by a wild creature. Your walks through the orchard will be lonely now....
