Probably 1932
My mother, Rosalia, right and her older sister Victoria.
I guess on a Sunday outing.
Probably 1938
My aunt Helene her daughter Gerlinde and her nephew Joseph;
I do not know where they went, perhaps to a wedding or to a christening.
Summer 1948
My younger sister and I, going out;
Sunday dress, white socks and white shoes
Going out to a School reunion 1969
From left, I, my school friend Guido and my best friend Margrit.
That's all from me, Going out;
Little girls -- I love that one of you and your sister! But Joseph's britches are -wow- I'm speechless.
ReplyDeleteWendy, thank you, yes I am too with his whole attire.
DeleteIn the top photo they are dressed up but they don't look very happy to have their picture taken.
ReplyDeleteColleen, thank you, yes, I wonder why, no smile!
DeleteEnjoyed seeing your family photos and especially the one of you with your sister. What pretty dresses!
ReplyDeleteBees Knees Daily, thank you.
DeleteI do love seeing people all dressed up for a special occasion. You and your sister in your Sunday best look lovely,and the wedding shot is a study in fashion.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I’m not sure if you are aware that you still have word verifcation switched on. There’s a general rebellion to do away with it as it’s become very complicated and seems to be putting people off commenting. I got rid of my mine a couple of weks ago and it’s been fine. Have a good weekend.
Little Nell; thank you for your comment, also for the tip to unable word verification, they are a nuisance; I did it and I hope it works!
DeleteThese are all precious, but the one of you and your sister is adorable. I really like Joseph's outfit, though I doubt you will get any boy to wear it today.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Kathy M.
Kathy, hi, thank you, and you are right, what an outfit to wear!
DeleteJoseph's plus-fours are priceless!
ReplyDeleteBob, hi, yes they are!
DeleteI enjoyed seeing your pictures. I especially like the one of your Aunt Helene her daughter and her and nephew. Joseph's suit looks unusual.
ReplyDeletepostcardy, I guess he wouldn't have worn it often!
DeleteYou posted such perfect photos to go with this week's theme. Especially the one with you and your sister in the pretty matching dresses.
ReplyDeleteNancy
Nancy, thank you for your kind comment. I still remember the day.
DeleteLike everyone else I am fascinated by Joseph's knickerbockers, they look to have plenty of growing room. It a great photo of your school reunion, looks like you were enjoying a laugh about a past event.
ReplyDeleteJoy, yes, they look certainly big enough. Yes, school reunions always interesting and fun to meet up with old school buddies.
ReplyDeleteSome great pictures and a reminder that "going out" was normally a great occasion and the type of occasion that would see the camera brought out. But in that first photograph the lady on the left (Victoria?) looks so sad.
ReplyDeleteAlan, thank you, yes she looks a bit sad and I think my mother looks concerned. We will never know.
DeleteSo sweet, back in the days people dressed up for going out, or for sure anytime they left the house, like your photos show! Today some people wear jeans to church!
ReplyDeleteKaren S. It is a bit sad in away that people do not dress up the way they did. I am still in the habit of dressing up, even for shopping! but it gives me a chance to wear clothes which I don't want to wear around the garden or the dog. I think wearing nice clothes makes one feel good!
DeleteFirst, I adore the rose photo that welcomes us to your blog. A common theme is how we all had our Sunday best and how dressing up really meant dressing up! Nice photo spread.
ReplyDeletePat, thank you very much for your kind comment.
DeleteReally love that one of you and your sister.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!
